The Buddha is cast in high quality bronze. Over time, the metal has developed a rich, dark brown to near-black patina, which speaks to its centuries old history.

Gilding: Traces of original gold leaf (lacquer gilding) remain visible on the Sanghati and the flame finial, adding an aura of sacredness and highlighting the craftsmanship.

Atop the head sits a tall, flame shaped ushnisha (finial) resembling an elongated lotus bud, a prominent signature of Lan Xang Buddhist art. The Robes (Sanghati):

The Buddha wears a monastic robe leaving the right shoulder bare.

A decorative Sanghati (over-the-shoulder cloth) drapes down to the navel,

ending in a straight, blunt cut.

This section is beautifully adorned with gold leaf, creating a striking contrast against the dark bronze.
