DESCRIPTION: Buddha sitting with legs crossed at the ankles, with both hands in his lap (Vajrasana and the Samadhi asara mudra). Usually interpreted as the Buddha in meditation
PERIOD: 18th century

COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: Ayuttaya, Thailand
CONSTRUCTION: Wood made from Sandalwood Buddha. In the Ayutthaya period, sandalwood was carved into various Buddha images. In those days most sandalwood Buddha were in the royal palace.
RARITY AND CONDITION: Extremely rare, good condition, some possible cleaning / restoration,
expected day to day wear (see photos)
