An exceptionally fine, museum-quality 12th-century Khmer sandstone relief sculpture depicting an Apsara a celestial dancer and water spirit from Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

Carved during the height of the Angkor period, this piece beautifully captures the serene, meditative expression characteristic of classic Khmer artistry.

The figure features an intricately detailed, multi-tiered headdress, elongated earlobes with traditional jewelry,

and a finely rendered necklace.

Her hands are held in a graceful, symbolic mudra gesture.

The texture of the ancient sandstone shows a wonderful, authentic patina earned over centuries, making it an imposing and highly prestigious addition to any collection of high-end Southeast Asian antiquities.
